2009 Duke -- 2009 Duke -- Race about to begin, still posing for photos. Hair on chest is partly responsible for slow speed. I did not photoshop hair to find an excuse why I finished 266th out of 298 swimmers with a timing of 49 minutes 49 seconds.
Notice swim goggles on forehead. That was how I entered the water, eyes stung by the salt, stopped to put goggles on, several folks swam over me, I drank a little ocean water, then swam some more until I could safely stop to adjust goggles correctly.
